This cosmetic treatment uses a pen like device that administers multiple fine needles into the dermal structure at one time to create micro-injuries that stimulate the body’s healing response. Microneedling is often referred to as collagen induction therapy because the needles delivered into the skin stimulate the body’s collagen production. Collagen is a protein that supports the underlying dermal structure to produce skin that is soft and smooth. As we age, our bodies produce less collagen which leads to skin laxity and the formation of fine lines and wrinkles. Microneedling induces an increase in collagen levels without significant discomfort or downtime, creating natural results over time that can last for many months.

What to expect: An average treatment requires approximately 45 minutes from start to finish. During the treatment the practitioner will cleanse and prep the skin and will apply the chosen ingredients to the skin and administer the dermal pen. Typically this portion of the treatment lasts 30 minutes. During the procedure you may experience some slight tingling and warmth of the skin, however the procedure is very comfortable. After the Micro needling, a recovery cream will be applied to the skin to cool and hydrate the skin.

Downtime: After the procedure you may expect redness for up to 72 hours post treatment depending on skin sensitivity. You can return to work and other activities the day after the procedure providing a physical sunscreen and if needed, mineral make-up is applied.

Frequency and Duration: Although results can become noticeable about 4 weeks after the 1st session, the recommended frequency for most people is 1X/month. What areas can be treated? This treatment can be used to treat the face, neck, and décolletage as well as any other areas of the body that may suffer from the conditions mentioned above.

How long before I start to see results? You will begin to see results approximately eight weeks after your first treatment. You will see positive signs of rejuvenation immediately after your treatment as well, due to the lifting and tightening of the skin that occurs due to collagen shrinkage.

This will last approximately one week, and will then be replaced by the longer-term collagen tightening that takes place when your skin conducts its own wound healing process. At this point, your treated areas will experience sustained improvement for up to three to six months after treatment

Is Micro needling painful? For Skin Needling treatments greater than 1.0mm deep, a topical anaesthetic can be applied by client prior to the treatment to minimise discomfort; all that is felt is a mild vibrating sensation with light pressure. Unlike other methods of needling, such as rollers, the oscillating needle pen technology distracts nerve receptors allowing for a relatively comfortable and fast treatment.

What will my skin look like after the treatment Immediately after your treatment you will experience mild redness and heat for up to 24 hours. It is also normal to experience petechiae, or small blood blisters, which usually disappear 1-2 days post treatment.
