Clients often describe a warm popping sensation. You may experience a slight discomfort in more sensitive areas.

In the weeks before your treatment, you should avoid tanning, both at tanning salons and under the sun. You should also avoid blood-thinning medication such as aspirin, ibuprofen, and other supplements. Blood-thinning medication can affect your circulation and increase the chances of bruising and swelling. On the day of your laser/BBL sessions, avoid wearing perfume, make-up, or other topicals that may irritate the skin or interfere with your treatment. You want to make sure your body is in optimal condition, primed, and ready for your treatments.

After treatment, you can resume your daily activities—you can even apply sunscreen and makeup immediately. You will only be asked to avoid strenuous activities during the first 48-72 hours after treatment and avoid long showers or baths, which could trigger the face’s natural response to flush. This is to try to keep skin vessels closed and improve the efficacy of BBL™ therapy. Expect to see pigmented lesions darken over the next two to three days and become raised flecks. These flecks will be exfoliated via the skin’s normal turnover cycle and then completely disappear.

The BBL facial is customised to your skin concern. Different filtered light energy is pulsed onto your skin. This light energy attracts various targets, such as brown in melanin, red or blue in blood vessels, and even collagen in your skin. When the light energy is absorbed into the target, healing occurs to remove unwanted areas of colour and stimulate new collagen production.
